Day 22 - Mosiah 5-8

Spiritual Thought:
"The problems of our day loom ominously before us. Surrounded by the sophistication of modern living, we look heavenward for that unfailing sense of direction, that we might chart and follow a wise and proper course. He whom we call our Heavenly Father will not leave our sincere petition unanswered."
--Thomas S. Monson, "Sailing Safely the Seas of Life", Ensign, Jul 1999, 2

Daily Focus Scriptures to mark and ponder:
Mosiah 5:2 - "...Yea, we believe all the words which thou hast spoken unto us...because of the Spirit of the Lord...which has wrought a mighty change in us, or in our hearts, that we have no more disposition to do evil, but to do good continually."
Mosiah 5:7 - "And now, because of the covenant which ye have made ye shall be called the "children of Christ", his sons and his daughters..."
Mosiah 5:8 - "...Therefore, I would that ye should take upon you the name of Christ..."

Daily Questions:
Do I act like a Christian?  Would someone who knew me, want to know Christ, because they knew me?

Food for Thought:
As the people listened to King Benjamin, they experienced a RE-BIRTH.  In normal birth
          there is the
  1. breaking of the water.
  2. the blood–that protective substance that surrounds and insulates the baby in the womb.
  3. a spirit enters that body, which thereby becomes a living soul.
The process of re-birth follows that same process.
    a. born of water,
      b. and of the Spirit,
      c. and we are cleansed by blood, even the blood of His Only Begotten Son
      d. a name is given - (The one born is given a name - a family name.)
      e.  We are children of Chirist and are born of him and we take upon us His name (Christians)

BOMING Picture:  Sent in by 12 year old Anna Christensen doing a hook shot while reading the Book of Mormon.  Pretty Talented.  Not only has she accepted the challenge to read the Book of Mormon in 70 days, but she is ahead of schedule!! You go girl!
