Day 59 - 3 Nephi 16-18

Spiritual Thought:
"Few men on earth," said Elder Bruce R. McConkie, "either in or out of the Church, have caught the vision of what the Book of Mormon is all about. Few are they among men who know the part
it has played and will yet play in preparing the way for the coming of Him of whom it is a new witness . . . The Book of Mormon shall so affect men that the whole earth and all its peoples will have been influenced and governed by it . . .There is no greater issue ever to confront mankind in modrn times than this: Is the Book of Mormon the mind and will and voice of God to all men?" We testify that it is." (The Millennial Messiah [Salt Lake City: Deseret Book Co., 19821, pp. 159, 170, 179.)
Daily Focus Scriptures to mark and ponder:
3 Nephi 16:1-3 - "...I have other sheep, which are not of this land 10 Tribes)...but I have received a commandment of the Father that I shall go unto them, and that they shall hear my voice..."
3 Nephi 17:1-2 - "I perceive that ye are weak, that ye cannot understand all my words...Therefore, go ye unto your homes and ponder upon the things which I have said...and prepare your minds for the morrow, and I come unto you again."
3 Nephi 17:7 - "Have ye any that are sick among you?  Bring them hither..."
3 Nephi 17: 10 - "And they did all...kiss his feet, insomuch that they did bathe his feet with their tears."

Daily Questions:
How would I react if I had this same experience?  Who would I go run and tell that Christ would be coming on the morrow?  Would I feel worthy to touch his feet and be in his presence?

Food for Thought:
In 3 Nephi17:14-17, Jesus stood in the middle, with the children around him and the parents kneeling around them.  He prayed for them, but did something that produced unspeakable joy.  What could that have been? In verses 18-20 he then touched the children "one by one, and blessed them."  In the end, Jesus turned to the parents and said, "Behold your little ones" (vs 23.)  It seems to me that Jesus is not just inviting the parents to look at their children and admire them, but could be saying, "Behold, YOUR little one", they are yours (forever)!  While it cannot be said exactly what transpired at this time, the children apparently now somehow belong to the parents through the Lord's blessing in a way they had not belonged before.  (Thoughts from John W. Welch - "Illuminating the Sermon at the Temp and the Sermon on the Mount - pg 98). Could Jesus have just SEALED them to each other? If so, no wonder angels were there to rejoice!
