Day 12 - 2 Nephi 15-19

Spiritual Thought:
“I feel certain that if, in our home, parents will read from the Book of Mormon prayerfully and regularly, both by themselves and with their children, the spirit of that great book will come to permeate our homes and all who dwell therein.  The spirit of reverence will increase, mutual respect and consideration for each other will grow.  Parents will counsel with their children in greater love and wisdom.  Righteousness will increase, faith, hope and charity the pure love of Christ, will abound in our homes and lives, bringing on their wake, peace, joy and happiness.”  (Marion G. Romney)

Daily Focus Scriptures to mark and ponder:
2 Nephi 17:14 - "Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign, Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and shall bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel."
2 Nephi 19:6 - "For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder; and his name shall be called, Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God.  The Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace."

Daily Questions:
Do you believe that His hand is stretched out to you?  When was the last time you sincerely thanked him for being there for you in your hard times?

Food for Thought:
It wasn't until I learned about Isaiah's 6 themes, and I went back and began reading 2 Nephi (Isaiah chapters) did I realize that the scriptures talk over and over of the 1) Scattering, 2) the Atonement, 3) The Restoration 4) The Gathering 5) 2nd Coming and 6) The Millennium.    As I did this, I started to see the big picture so much better.  I realized that all of these somewhat disjointed doctrines all tie back into ONE place and that is the Plan of Salvation.  As I read about them, I can begin to plug them in where they belong in "The Movie" and it all began to make so much for sense to me.  Every doctrine must be tied somehow to the Plan of Salvation.  When we do this, all the puzzle pieces we are taught by reading the scriptures, or listening to our teachers and our parents finally fit into place as we begin to see the “Big Picture.”

I've been reading with you even though I didn't "join" the group. Your comments are exceptionally good. Great insight, Michele!

How can I get a copy of your plan of salvation chart? I tried to enlarge it, but couldn't. Can you email me one?

You are totally incredible to take on this meaningful project when you're not feeling your best. You're making a difference in my life and I love you for it!!!!
